Hi!

Welcome to my travel blog. My inspiration for this site came from several of my friends who asked for a way to follow along virtually as I embark on a Viking World Cruise in January 2026. I figured this would be a good way to keep you all abreast of my location and experiences, yet have it on your terms. 

You can opt-in for e-mail notifications when there's a new post, or you can just check back from time-to-time. I promise you won't get spammed with a bunch of big picture files or long e-mails. You can choose (or not!) to come here to see the latest.

The blog is “semi-private”. That is, anyone who knows the URL (https://jimsvoyages.blogspot.com) can see the blog. You’ll have to be signed into your Google account to leave comments though. I’ve set things so that the blog shouldn’t be visible in search engines, just to help keep spammers and total strangers from finding it. I'd like to avoid letting the general public know that I'm away from home. 

If you know of someone who you think would be interested, feel free to pass them the URL. But please don’t post it on social media or other public forum.

Just to give you a preview of my next adventure, here's a map of where I'm headed:

I'll be departing my home address on 2 Jan 2026 and flying to Los Angeles for a couple days of  sightseeing before boarding the cruise ship on Jan 5th.

I'll be on the ship from 5 Jan 2026 until 6 May 2026. I'm planning on a few days in Belgium visiting some good friends before returning home on 11 May 2026.

My ship will be the Viking Sky and I'll be in cabin 6073 on deck 6. It's a relatively small ship as cruise ships go, just 930 passengers.
